Each of our classic three stone rings are hand built directly in the gold or platinum for the individual gemstones chosen; creating the perfect three stone ring. Unlike it’s commercial bastard cousin found in most jewelry stores, your average three stone ring is simply an assembly of pre-made commercial parts or components, or, a basic rough casting. Understandably the commercial three stone ring seen in most stores is a high production item that is engineered for gemstones of only standard dimensions.

The first step in creating a masterful, classic three stone ring with Thomas Michaels Designers is the careful choice of the center gemstone. Virtually all quality diamonds or gemstones have unique dimensions, subsequently requiring more careful handling and treatment if a truly masterful piece is to be built correctly. When we fabricate a custom three stone ring the result is a perfectly proportioned article. Great care is given to create the right proportions between the gemstones and the hand. Because we are fabricating the article 100% from scratch; we have the ability to dictate all dimensions, relationships and the shape and the type of gemstones used. This is the way all fine jewelry was made in the past. A well built classic three stone ring results in a comfort of wearability; in that the height of the side gems in relation to the center gemstone is fully controllable; unlike in commercial production mountings or a retailer’s “custom” mounting assembled from components.

No concessions! You decide! You can dictate any type of precious metal used anywhere in the article; such as: platinum prongs for a center white diamond with yellow gold basket settings for side sapphires with a yellow ring shank around the finger; vs. and entirely platinum or 18KT yellow gold ring with many subtle variations.

Since you are designing the article and we have no technical constraints, based on our abilities; then we can together create the look that you desire. What is the relationship of the side gemstones to the center gemstone of your dreams or your existing diamond? We can supply center and side gemstones in tenth of a millimeter increments allowing us to choose the perfect gemstone. Should the width of the pear shapes you are considering as the sides for the oval center be a little wider; or should the baguettes on either side of the emerald cut center be longer, wider?
